This mentor supervision plan can be used for individual or group supervision sessions. Suggested timings are given for individual (50 minutes total) and group (90 minutes) supervision sessions.

Review last meeting 5 / 10 As relevant, brief review of previous meeting and discuss any set goals or actions.
Progress review 10 / 20 Mentor(s) present progress of young woman being mentored, with focus on challenges and celebrations. If a group session, other mentors encouraged to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for problem-solving, as needed. Supervisor celebrates efforts and achievements. Supervisor offers guidance and resources, as relevant.
Risk, safety, and relationship issues 10 / 15 Supervisor enquires as to any mentor concerns regarding risk and safety issues experienced by young woman. Supervisor provides guidance on any further action required. Supervisor enquires as to mentors’ perception and experiences of how the mentoring relationship is working, including any challenges. Supervisor provides support and guidance.
Mentor wellbeing 10 / 15 Supervisor to emphasise importance of mentors’ wellbeing. Supervisor to enquire as to how mentor(s) feels about mentoring progress and to explore any impacts on and/or of their wellbeing. Supervisor to offer support and encouragement. If a group session, other mentors encouraged to reflect on any strategies used to enhance and protect their own wellbeing. Supervisor to offer guidance on self-care for wellbeing.
Any other business 5 / 10 Supervisor to check with mentor(s) as to any additional topics for discussion or any concerns or questions regarding future mentoring practice.
Review and arrange next session 5 / 10 Supervisor to reflect key discussion points, summarise any goals and actions, remind mentor(s) about resources available to them for further learning and development, and ensure next session confirmed.
