Information for mentors

Mentoring is a crucial part of the HOPEFUL intervention. Young women have told us how much they value the support of a mentor to grow their hope and work towards their goals. In The Looking Forward Project, young women are supported to work through the HOPEFUL workbook by a trained mentor called a coach.

We are interested to hear from anyone who might like to volunteer some of their time to be a coach. Our coaches come from a variety of backgrounds, including but not limited to postgraduate students, people with previous professional and/or personal experience of supporting young people, and people with lived experience of being a vulnerable young person themselves.

To be a coach in The Looking Forward Project, you would need to be aged 18 years or over. We provide training and supervision and ask for a minimum 6-month commitment to the role. We don’t expect you to incur any expenses, but we regretfully cannot reimburse these if you do.

Please watch this short information video to find out more about being a coach, including the training, support and other benefits you could gain.

To find out more or get involved, please send us a message using the form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
